Octavia win Sustainable Housing Provider of the Year

Over 200 housing and industry professionals came together this November to celebrate outstanding achievements at this year’s SHIFT awards. As the only awards celebrating sustainability in housing, Octavia are proud to announce we are this year’s winners of the prestigious sustainable housing provider of the year award.

Noel Brosnan, Asset Management Director said:

“We have placed energy efficiency high on our agenda not only because we believe in reducing negative impact on the environment but also because we know that fuel poverty is a big issue for man residents. This award is the most prestigious of its kind and so we are really pleased to be recognised. It’s a great achievement.”

Octavia aims to ensure that all our homes meet a “good” energy efficiency standard by 2023, meaning all homes will have a SAP rating of no less than 69.

The programme works to achieve this goal which is already well underway, including changing inefficient boilers and draught stripping front windows but also by replacing windows with aluminium double glazed units, which we estimate will result in a 60% saving on our next cyclical maintenance costs.
