Fire at Petworth Court, Wembley, Middlesex

At around 16.40 on Monday 29 January a fire began at Petworth Court, a low rise block of homes in Elm Road, Wembley. The London Fire Brigade were alerted and are on site. There are no reports of injuries. 

Residents of Petworth Court and an adjoining block were safely evacuated and those in neighbouring blocks were evacuated as a precaution. Octavia staff are on site and working with Brent Council’s Emergency Response team and other agencies to support residents. The safety of residents is paramount and the needs of those with vulnerabilities have been prioritised. We are ensuring all residents are supported with access to welfare facilities while the incident continues. Our emergency planning procedures have been activated and alternative temporary emergency accommodation for residents has been arranged, where this is needed. 

We will continue to work closely with the London Fire Brigade and await an update on the cause of the fire.
